Standard 5

Impact on Student Learning

Physical Education teacher candidates utilize assessments and reflection to foster student learning and inform instructional decisions.

Artifact: Curriculum Project

Date: Fall 2009

Reflection: In EDU 355, I was able to teach at Boynton Middle School, where I taught Ultimate Frisbee. I made pre and post assessments for the students’ psychomotor, affective, and cognitive knowledge. I was then able to see those assessment results to see if my students were learning the correct information and to evaluate my own teaching. This artifact is important to my development as a teacher because I will be using assessments before, during and after my lessons while I am teaching to make sure that my lessons are beneficial to my students.
